Re: SXRPG Version 5.2.1 - now on 1.12 Server
Oh and by the way, let me mention a "challenge" that jb and paso came up with: Play on expert, with no purchase of shop weapons. Only the weapons that come with the character, and the dropped weapons, may be used. I believe that they can beat the Wizard of War map this way.

Re: SXRPG Version 5.2.1 - now on 1.12 Server
Hi Mabuse, I recently played this again with jb and paso, still fun :D I like all the item drops you have created, it spices up the game at the end, you can unexpectedly make significant changes to your characters because of it so it adds interest. Actually a lot of the changes you have made over ti...

Re: Split from [is AI cheating?]
+1 skeptical_troll These pictures of numbers, with various colored boxes, supposed to be "proving" that the RNG is biased... it reminds me of the "crazy walls" scene from the movie "A Beautiful Mind". Here's a way that you could attempt to give evidence that the RNG is ...

Re: Split from [is AI cheating?]
tl;dr The AI does not "cheat" like you are suggesting in wesnoth 1.12, the probabilities are the same for ai and human. However, If you aren't happy with the random generator in 1.12, you could try playing the development version 1.13 and see if you think it is noticeably different. There ...

Re: May I post Wesnoth music and sound effects to Fanburst?
I think you should ask FanBurst if GPL v2 licensed content is adequate to meet their needs "for the purpose of displaying distributing, and promoting your fanburst profile". If not, then you can't, and it's on them. I know Wesnoth runs under GNU which means any use that isn't making money ...

Re: MultiplayerServerWML bot creation
I guess I don't know what your development goals are here, but one thing that might save you a huge amount of time is if you use the "plugins" feature I developed some years ago. It is already possible to write multiplayer server bots in lua, that connect to the wesnoth application itself....

Re: Wesnoth Board
Would you reconsider your resignation? No, I want to take a break. Look at it this way, one of the terms in the whole "board" thing is if one of the board members disappears or becomes inactive, then they can be replaced. That's not really my style, I'd rather resign than make Dave come t...

Wesnoth Board
Hi, I'm writing in regards to the Wesnoth Inc. board, which was mentioned in some earlier posts: https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=44477&p=600565&hilit=board#p600565 https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44616 I've decided to resign from the board. I don't think...

Re: Balancing changes in 1.13 cycle?
If you could link to replay I would probly be interested enough to watch it.
Yeah I would totally playtest that era.ElderofZion wrote: Honestly it would be nice to maybe see it get like 60% blade and 50% pierce res instead of changing its cost too drastically to like 17 g, taht would be more fun and interesting

Re: Balancing changes in 1.13 cycle?
Yeah, changing the blade and pierce resistances of skeletons may go too far. Probly better to test without that, I was just throwing it out there. It also damages the flavor of the skeletons a bit. But I think improving the impact resistance would help greatly with the woses and footpads which is on...

Re: Balancing changes in 1.13 cycle?
I think it would be interesting to try it and see if we like it.
I will try to make a test era sometime soon.

Re: Balancing changes in 1.13 cycle?
I see, I think I misread you. I basically agree that sticking an HI on a village is often pretty wise, even at 19gp. I don't think HI are the reason Knalgan can't attack. I think the main issue is once there are too many units to get backstabs, they can't really attack. It's really very difficult fo...

Re: Balancing changes in 1.13 cycle?
ForPeace: I think this is a pretty interesting list of changes you've proposed. Has there been any playtesting with these proposed changes? I think it's worth also to include Cackfiend's longstanding footpad change proposal in your poll -- footpad melee to blade or pierce. That would help undead vs ...

Re: Upcoming Music and Art licensing changes
This isn't even close to true. In this thread, I pointed out 3 mainline contributors who quit over the GPL. The first community response in this thread asserted that the change was needed. Before this was ever posted, FaeLord was inquiring in the sound forum about the possibility of using CC assets...
