Re: Tabletop RPGs
That makes sense. Guess it could even be implemented into Wesnoth. I.e. interrogate captured creature to reveal enemy positions.PapaSmurfReloaded wrote:Zone of truth is typically used in interrogations.
Also, I wonder, why Wesnoth has no global spells, like say Day to Night or terraforming spells?

Tabletop RPGs
I've noticed tabletop RPGs have unusual spells, absent from computer RPGs: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/coreRulebook/spellLists.html - Augury: Learns whether an action will be good or bad. - Divination: Provides useful advice for specific proposed actions. - Commune: Deity answers one yes-or-n...

Re: Outsider Art for Bad Moon Rising
Fixed a little that funny anatomy with armadillo's paws growing out of its ass The "zombie dragon" also has arse-legs. Is that a recurring Wesnoth gimmick?

Hey, DeCoolest_Cat! Have you read the wesnoth animation tutorials? :eng: https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Basic_Animation_Tutorial http://web.archive.org/web/20101222082315/http://wiki.wesnoth.org/From_Base_Frame_To_Full_Animation Link is through archive.org, because wiki.wesnoth.org/From_Base_Frame_To_Full...

Re: License question
Regarding NC (rather than ND), there was a worrying ruling regarding it a while back, which made NC equal to "for private use only": http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5377 Only in Germany, yes, but it's still worrying since courts in other countries could follow a simil...

Re: License question
Likewise, the Ogg Vorbis format that Wesnoth distributes music as is, as far as I know, not the format most musicians would be working with when creating the song. As such, the argument is that the music Wesnoth comes with is violating the GPL. It doesn't, because author has copyright over the work...

Re: License question
And that's neat and all, but that doesn't resolve the ambiguity in the GPL license. The fact that everything digital is data doesn't mean that I can arrange that data any way I like and say it's the "preferred form" for making modifications. It would be disingenuous to say that releasing ...

I guess that is a chinese dragon. They have long body and short legs.Vyncyn wrote:I think the anatomy of the dragon looks strange. The distance from arms to legs if to big. I guess it would look more natural if it either only wings and no legs or if you make the body thicker, like the firedragon.

Re: License question
GPL is perfectly fine license for art, because art can be seen as code, and code as art. The problem is, as Pentarctagon says, what is "source" for art? Realistically, the image (or sound) itself should qualify, but some people think the layered working file is "source". There a...

Re: License question
Any Wesnoth art we have been using there is intended to be placeholder. Yes, we should clarify that this art is GPL (but yes, GPL is a nonsensical license for art). GPL is perfectly fine license for art, because art can be seen as code, and code as art. Each png file can be seen as a library, which...

wow. So we can donate? "Donate" or whatever Someone can setup a donation campaign, accepting money for the development of Wesnoth (and possible other FOSS) and then taking all the money for himself. I wonder, why site admin havent done that himself already. A few thousand bucks could have...

 A fitting end to the Harry Potter series in my opinion (not a fan). Kind of spoils my idea though, I wanted to get some totally "unknown" Russian director who´s never read LoTR to make an unhollywood version. Actually, there is a soviet Hobbit version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

about the trident, it's because the rotating function in gimp often messes up pixel art No program rotates pixel art properly. You are going to have to draw it at the new angle. You can use GIMP to help though. Just use rotate with "interpolation:none", and it will leave the image as pixe...
