Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
This lists removed WML functionality and helpful hints for avoiding pitfalls.

We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.

when i try to use the option to kill, it messes up and kills EVERYTHING. I don't know what the problem is, nor can i find it, so i decided to look for help.
Note: i shortened it to the part that doesn't work.
I've just create very basic support for syntax highlighting for
midnight commander's internal editor for .wml files. If anybody is
interested, it's in the attachment. If you wan't to install it, simply
unpack it to your home directory.
In my campaign, I need to change the leader in the very first scenario. From 'Elvish Sylph', Elebrindra, to 'Elvish Shaman', Tindra. The code I used for it was based on the one from TSG. But in TSG, they change the leader only temporarily, for one scenario. I want to change it for ever.
Maybe, it's a simple problem, but I still can't understand. I have a simple scenario. Two sides, side 1 (we), and side 2 (they). And there is a certain unit on the side 2, who in certain moment should switch to side 1. If I use some fixed turn number for it ( name=turn 3 , for example), it works...
Hey all, been playing Wesnoth now for about a month. Joined the ladder and got to know whats going on from skimming the forums, but I thought I should try to contribute in a way.
Since I'm a pretty novice artist and don't know much about sprites, I thought maybe I could try learning this WML and...
I'm trying to make a basilisk unit and I'm wondering how to construct an attack special to set the target's side to 3, reduce it's hp to one and reduce it's movement to 0. Thus turning it to stone.
I try to limit the ability to recruit of my hero to only the starting keep. In order to do this I stored the side, and made moveto events in all the keeps, setting the .recruit variable to the valid list, but the list is not altered.
Here the side definition (only relevant information)...
Having ported my campaign, most things seem to be working. However, for some reason, the endlevel tags aren't triggering, which is a bit of a nuisance.
Can anyone spot what's causing the problem, or is this a Wesnoth bug?
I'm working on a campain, I've got the first senario to the point where the game will load it up, and the campain loads up the Era of Myth units (took me a short while to figure out what was needed), but I've got an odd problem. After I go through the story, I have my objectives, and two units...
Is working fine, but units can't move through the terrain. I went through the WML documentation about terrain, but saw no attribute related with movement cost of the terrain.
By the way, will there be a way to make this terrain to recruit ONLY undead?...
One of my scenarios requires unlimited moves and attacks. The following events work perfectly for me (no crashes), but someone reported that it crashes randomly after either moving or attacking.
I saw that with WML you can give the user dialog options displaying a menu, but, Can the user display a menu at his own will? Is there any event that could fire whenever the user wants? If so, this would open many doors for RPG in the game, because the user could use objects that has stored.
Let's...
I'm testing my new scenario as better, before publishing...!!
But a new strange thing happens...!! :annoyed:
When a player point the mouse over an enemy unit and click on it (to obtain the statistics for a possible fight) all seems work fine... but... clicking on Abort ......
IDK whats causing it it occurs no matter what map I define in the scenario cfg to be loaded. I even tried defining mainline maps to be loaded and I keep getting this infernal error.
Thank you for clicking on this thread, now I need help. I am crafting a campaign and I created a test scenario in order to test some custom terrain and some units but these infernal errors occur:
Now if you were wondering why my BfW install has such a weird path and is buried within Google...
I've been working on a darkens/deluminates ability for a faction i've been toying around with. However, recently i've run into a problem with the abilities of one of my units.
Apparently the tag doesn't allow for specifying how low (negative, chaotic) a value can go globally, like it does for...
I have several code blocks that look similar to the following (changing things like the location and unit types/descriptions mainly), and occasionally (not always, and not with a pattern I've been able to find) accepting their help crashes the game.
Any suggestions?
First problem solved, see a post below for curred...
But after you leave the shop there is an empty message as in the attachment. The message is centered. when I click the message disappears(as every message in game) and the $exit_message is shown. here is the Shop Code:How can I remove this empty...
And just STARTING_VILLAGES?
Do I have to include any special path in my scenario to use this function?
Can it be inside the tag?
If not, how does the engine know which side are you talking about?
I had no effect in my scenario, why??
Thank you. This forum so far is solving all my beginner doubts.
I coded this way a neutral side on an scenario.
My intention is to have a neutral side that only retreats, or at least doesn't go and attack the enemy. I also wanted to keep the leader out of the keep, so the player can use it to recruit. With these settings I get an AI that attacks the enemy, and...
I'm quite new to WML coding so i'm not sure if this is possible, but i wanted to have two units, lets say a peasant and a woodsman, both advance to a bowman. But i wanted a bit of variety, so i was wondering if it was possible to write and event tag or an effect tag that causes the woodsman to...
