Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
After two and a half years of development and thousands of commits made by dozens of contributors, the Battle for Wesnoth development team is proud to announce the availability of version 1.18.0 on...
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
As mentioned in the Wesnoth 1.14.4 release announcement, all previous Wesnoth versions including Lua scripting support are affected by a security vulnerability which potentially allows a malicious party to execute arbitrary code through the Lua engine by using specially-crafted code in...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...

I failed to find any advance warning for this event with search function built into Wesnoth's forums and scrolling through Release Announcements, Compiling & Installation forum topic
Where should I look for such warnings?

Hey there. I'm not sure if this was addressed in an earlier post or not, but I have the 1.12.6 version that was packaged with Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver. However, there are NO campaigns. All it is, is the base game with multiplayer only. Where do I go to find them, and how in the world do I install...
This new release in the 1.15.x development series sees various changes and improvements in various areas.
Among the highlights for this particular release are major changes to level 2+ unit balancing, Era of Heroes and the AI engine; major revisions to the Sceptre of Fire , Liberty and Descent...
I've been trying to compile Wesnoth on OpenMandriva Lx 4.1 But using both scons and cmake, it keeps giving me the same errors related to the Boost libraries. It was a complete nightmare just trying to get the dependencies installed and recognized by both scons and cmake (particularly the boost...
I'm sure you've heard this question over and over again, but I couldn't find my answer. So, if there's a topic, which exactly helps me, I would be glad to get the link ;)
I got Version 1.12.6 and would like to update to the 1.14.x series and, for best, the newest version of it.

Hi, I was just wondering if there are any instructions for compiling Wesnoth for iOS. I have managed to compile Wesnoth for macOS using XCode, but I have not found any instructions for compiling into iOS. I do some iOS development, so I was looking to see if I could help fix some bugs and things.

Hi gents.
I have succesfully compiled our beloved game from source with no issue on my windows 7, 32 bit, old but still valid development environment, but this latest release has some scons cache issue. So, in a fresh mingw32 term I started from scratch:
(and no, you didn't miss 1.15.0 - for various reasons, 1.15.1 is actually the first release)
As the first release of the 1.15 development series, a variety of changes and improvements have been included. However, since it has also been a while since our last alpha-quality development release, we...

I'll admit i'm not the most well versed in using this forum, and might just have not looked up the right topics, but i like to look in the unit database sometimes to take a look at units i haven't seen. Recently there are the Dune Folk who were added, but Most recently being a few days ago, in one...
I made a break again some time ago, largely due to reallife. Every now and then I look back to wesnoth to see what is new.
I am reluctant to try out the 1.14.x branch largely because I know it quite well and am more curious about anything that may
change. I think a few wesnoth devs are...

and Installing Wesnoth 1.10 turned out to be quite hard too, the code was no longer compatible with newer compilers and libraries. When it kept refusing to run, I had to install the windows (32-bit only) version using wine on Linux... and that finally worked. Phew.
I'm trying to run the latest version of wesnothd but I can't find a example .cfg script to pass to the -c command-line option. Can someone help me out? Would prefer a file that listed all the options and the defaults...
A new way of building on windows is possible now, using MSYS2. This project not only provides prepackaged gcc of recent version but also windows builds of dependencies saving me the need to make deps packages. It reuses pacman, package manager from arch linux to support updates too.
Recently, I want to see what's the early-aged Wesnoth like, so I downloaded the old version's source code from Sourceforge. However, I failed to compile all the versions before 1.10.
Let me take v1.5.14 as an example. V1.5.14 is the last version of v1.5 series which has two ways to compile -- the...
