How to play a mostly-lawful force with a single Undead unit?

Post by revolting_peasant »

In Delfador's Memoirs, there's a scenario in which a force of mostly lawful units must include an undead one, which must survive the scenario (and land the deadly blow on the main enemy leader). Now, I'm not asking about that specific scenario, but it got me to notice I don't have any experience playing this combination of forces. Has anyone written a post on the tactics of putting such a unit to effective use? If not, can you suggest some ideas? Even the question of whether to use it by day or by night is not altogether trivial.

Unless it is an ancient lich in a lawful army, play the army as a lawful one with one unit that retaliates harder at night.
I am a Saurian Skirmisher: I'm a real pest, especially at night.

Sounds to me like the best way to handle it is to treat the Undead unit as an escort for the most part - keep it just behind your main lines and play like you have normal Lawful forces. If it just needs to land the final blow on the leader, then you don't need to use it for anything else, so all you need to do is set it up for the last hit.
