Battle of Wesnoth and Windows 8.1
First installed the last development version (1.11.16).
The problem was with the connexion with the server add ons. Then used the compatibility programme of Windows to use BoW with the W7. It worked.
Then installed some add on (The Rising) and started to play. Stopped and closed the computer. When I wanted to charge the last scenario: got the message "no file saved". Went to the folder of the addons (MyGames/BoW/data/addon/): no add on! the folder was empty.
Then uninstalled the 1.11.16 version to replace it by the stable version 1.10.7: not even working...
What did I do wrong?

I'm having the same problem -- I installed the stable version (US English) on my new Windows 8.1 machine and am unable to access the add-ons server. When I click "add-ons" from the main screen the box appears, but with the "Update add-ons" and "Remove add-ons" buttons deactivated. Trying to connect gives me a "Remote host disconnected" error message
