Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
I am running OSX 10.3.9 and what I thought was a binary version of Battle for Wesnoth 1.4.2 gives me the above message on trying to open it. A similar thing has happened before, but is usually resolved quickly. I have tried four times now and it seems that I am not getting what I have expected from the download. I have an earlier version that is working for me.
Help!
Thank you.

Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
What program did you use to download?
The problem is probably due to an incomplete download. When I uploaded this binary, I had the same problem when downloading with Speed Download, but using Safari worked fine. Ensure that you have a stable internet connection when downloading. If your problem persists, I'll post an MD5sum for you check.
EDIT: I've downloaded and it worked. This is the md5: afb076cb83ce783819094ad6d75b2edf. Open terminal and type "md5". Drag the dmg into the terminal window and type enter. The value should be the same.

Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
I originally was using Camino when I first encountered this problem so I switched to Firefox and encountered the same problem. I don't think it is the downloading aspect. The md5 check outs.
Here are my system specs:
OS 10.3.9
700 MHz G4 iMac
768 MB RAM

Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
Thanks for your suggestions. This has happened before, but I need to try Safari or Firefox. I was using Camino.
Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
1 other question that I forgot to ask:
Was the downloaded .dmg the same size as stated in the download page?
If it is (with same md5 value), then it's a build issue. If not, then it's probably a download issue (I'd still recommend Safari as I myself downloaded the dmg before making the previous post).

Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
It is the exact same size and the exact same MD5. I have now tried downloading it multiple times with Safari, Firefox, and Camino.
Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
Sorry for the frustration, this is probably the problem. Thanks to Ivanovic for notifying me.
I'll try to get a fixed version up tomorrow.
EDIT: this problem applies to you too eviloc1.

Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
I have a 400MHz G4 and 1 GB of RAM. Safari did not download a dmg with mountable file systems, either. It is the same size as I was led to expect. For reasons of unfamiliarity with the Terminal, perhaps, I was unable to compare md5 values (got "No such file or directory").
Re: Wesnoth_MacOSX No mountable file systems
Downloaded from MacUpdate v. 1.5 yesterday. The Wesnoth Web site tells me that there are no v. 1.5 binaries yet, but has v. 1.4.2; this gives me a lite version of 1.4.2 (~70 MB). When I looked at anakayub's final post to the forum on this issue and follow the link he gives, I am then able to download what is identified as v.1.4.2 of the expected size (158 MB).
Thanks, anakayub
