Two-/Multi-player campaigns?

The kind of multi-player that tephlon and Integral talk about is IMHO the only type of multi-player that matches my conception of what Wesnoth is about.

I agree as well; implementing anything other than a story-based campaign for multiplayer would make Wesnoth a very different type of game.

... I still think it'd be cool to be able to fight someone one-on-one though for maybe days, weeks at a time, through a number of scenarios, and be allowed to recall units from past scenarios. If there was some way to allow for a loss, like with retreating or something, even story-based campaigns could be made to be free-form - ie, *numerous* branches.

1.0 comes first, of course, and should. Thanks to Wesnoth's devteam for creating what is, already, a damned good game...
