This game sucks

I used to think Wesnoth had some sort of balance, but after playing a couple hundred matches against people, I realized that it's just a rock-paper-scissors stretched out over an hour of "gameplay". When I start playing as Drakes and my opponent is Undead there is no point in fighting back. All you can do in this situation is quit and uninstall. It's like playing chess where all your pieces are pawns and all your opponent pieces are queens.

Hi me beating ud with drakes. In general on bigger maps drakes score better, while on small maps ud score better. But it's a playable match up, I think most players prefer drakes.

I'm talking mostly about AfterLife because

1. It's official ranked map
2. It's 1v1 map so you don't need to wait an hour to find players

If you can beat ud for drakes on this map, it just means that your opponent is complete noob.

Otherwise you lose your rating for nothing.

Afterlife is not an official map/scenario. It's community-made content. So I suggest you bring these sorts of issues up with its author(s).

Drake has some play against Undead on Afterlife, although need to make accurate moves.

It's not playable as Drake vs UD on afterlife. You just need to give extra movement points to Liches and Drakes can't run at night.
Removing xp mode would balance it a bit.

Maybe it's possible to restrict copies max movements or stuff like that? Coz many don't want to play without XP mod.

Overall, I would love to try and develop some afterlife era, but I suspect whatever changes made it may draw criticism from a significant part of the folks
