i will test them once i finished all files so if there is something to fix, i will fix them all in one session.
here the orcish keep ruin.
if they dont look much like ruins or something else is seems wrong, please let me know.

one thing which will stand out are the missing spikes which made the orcish keep look so nice in the first place.

I don't think that a destroyed orcish castle should represent the perfect example of "niceness" in the world...
All the other ruined castles are "ugly" the same way - for being indeed ruined.
The only minor nitpick I can forcefully carve out of my mind is that the ruined orcish castle (not the keep) could be at risk of being mistaken for the troll castle.
But for that, I'll wait to see it completed before forming an opinion. Also, maybe it doesn't matter at all even if it did. So...nice work!

Very well done! I really like the changes you have made.
It may not be of any help but I did notice in many of the other ruined castles a color differential. Do you think a slight color adjustment (darker to show decay of ash) would have any improvement?

I will investigate this matter once i have direct comparison the default ruin.
hoever. as i think of it right now, what i did was less a ruined/decayed orcish keep but more a (somewhat freshly) destroyed keep. A decayed orcish keep would probably look much more different.

I just now realised that you mentioned a troll castle. is there such a thing? i am not sure if i came across such thing other then the orcish keep.
or maybe i just cannot recall it.

wow, gladly no one worked on the orcish ruins...
i was still on 1.12 and had no clue of the addition.
once this is done i could work on the destroyed troll keep too.
those crumbled stones were easy to to edit

just replaced my images for the editor and ofc i am not satisfied with the results.
goods:
destroyed keep looks really good, as single hex and surrounded by fort
i wouldn want to change it.
negatives:
everythign else... aka fort and maybe keep-fort connections too
- too many rocks
- too many cracks
- lowered high too much, now some some areas are viible which are transparent now
- looks too similar
- no embalishment, maybe the clutter was making it look more realistic, i should add it back
i see now why some
In conclusion. i saw my results and gonna proceed improving in some time

i simple replaced the orcish winter files with my files. much easier to place both in the same editor at the same time
i looked into this and the color of the decayed human castle doesnt change to the default, what changes tho is the ground tile. i could edit that one...
In conclusion. i saw my results and gonna proceed improving in some time

I think changing the ground tile is definitely a good idea, just as a way of making it more distinct at a glance.

Seeing the screenshot, I too think the focus should be more on the wooden parts, with the stone mostly intact.
For the most part, you have the wood simply shorter as if sunken into the ground (as they still have the sharpened tips), and that doesn't really make much sense. To show the fort having fallen apart, many of the logs should instead have fallen to the ground and some others tilting in random directions. That should provide a nice visual contrast to the normal fort.
For the stone, you could simply add some moss or something. Those are solid stone after all, they wouldn't have crumbled into pieces.

yes yes. i agree with you.
was checking the fort of ruined human keep and most of the walls are still intact, only some breaks here and ther. i will try to do the same. i also will add the cluuter/embalishment back.
as for the ground, i can work on the keep ground a bit, but for the fort ground i need to edit the dirt terrain png...

are you somehow aware of where the actual dirt/fort ground image is or how that actually works? because in the image directory there is an image for keep ground provided called keep.png but none for the fort...
i assumed it was some sort of dirt1-7.png but the shade of brown is much darker in the orcish castle and there is no other to find.
any one can clear me up on that?
