This one may be a little more difficult.
Not because the riddle itself is so hard, but because some people may find the thing to which it refers to be obscure, and also because despite having gotten to bed at a decent time, I am tired and I'll probably phrase it badly. It goes:

My name sounds like something rather funny
but few would get the joke if they were hungry

I'm sticky and greasy and covered in spice
appart from the bones I taste quite nice

The second part of my name
shouldn't go on large four-legged beasts

The first parts wouldn't crow
as day dawns in the east

Did people in their gluttonous errors
make a up monster with horns and feathers?

By the sound of me I should weigh quite a lot
and be rather big
but actually I'm not.

I don't get the first part
The second is obvious
Um, "Wing" is not a part of any four legged animal I know
The Chicken doesn't crow, the rooster does.
The next part I'm assuming is the Chicken's relation to certain Dinosaurs? (Which originally were thought to be dragons and giants and are now found to be related to be birds)
And the last part, the Chicken is loud as hell but isn't very large.

If you are, you ruined it. It's a good riddle, but people already know the answer from the harry potter books, and I wanted to see if people could actually figure it out.

Actually, I do believe centuries would be more accurate. I don't know if I've heard of that exact one, but once you're aware of the type of riddle, it's pretty easy to figure out.
