Darth Fool wrote:2) stance. Overall quite good and distinguishable. There are a few units that suffer from identical stances in the unit tree. Different stance help the player to distinguish easily between units at a glance that are not next to each other. I think that the Shield Bearer -> Rigid leveling violates this, as well as the whole hunter line. This is a pretty subjective problem, but if you are going to rework those graphics at all, I would try and differentiate the stances more.
Actually, a nice touch is that the (L1) Shield Bearer looks to be suffering more under the weight of the shield than the (L2) Rigid.

They do look very similar though.

Perhaps the Shield Bearer could be suffering more under the weight - perhaps even so much that the shield drags on the ground?

Well, I've been fuxxing around with this one for bloody ages, but I think I'm done.
Got rid of balance and reversal issues, slight changes to armour and tweaked shading.

Could I take a little tweak at it still?
I wish I had more time in my hands.

Of course! You don't need to ask.

But...err...please try to avoid 'overpowering' him.

The faces of these guys have always looked kinda... too east.
Some other stuff there too... on the axe and legs.

I hope this isn't too powerful looking now. :?

:D Splendid.

I don't know what you mean by the faces being 'too east.' It doesn't really matter though, I like the face you did.
I'm not too sure about the skirt-ish thing. It sort of both works and doesn't work at the same time. Can't explain it.

Oh, and he's not at all overpowered.

Anyway, I'll make a couple changes and post back.

Right then.
Included all your shading tweaks on pants and arms. Sort of 'merged' the face. I like how the face looks now.
Didn't use the skirt-ish thing, but used your hip/thigh plates. Kept old shoulder plates. Also, your axeblade had problems on terrain backgrounds.

Thus...

In the face they look a bit like asian people with puffy cheeks. (eg. Sumo wrestlers). I thought that added to the charm and puffy cheeks invoked a feeling of windswept plains for me.

They also look a bit like Slitheen in the face. :)

Yup. Sorry for my english.
They were actually looking (=pointing) too east.
The new "merged" face looks great. :)

Oops! Well they still look asian in the face to me. :)

And I still like it - gives an impression of mongolian steppe nomads.

I kinda preferred eternal's shoulder pads, but the new face is nice. It looks appropriately tough.

Yeah? I couldn't quite tell what was 'going on' with them. Will take another shot later.

I tried my hand at the Pariah:

 Added anti-aliasing to the fingers, bent far right (middle?) finger back
 Added a "magical" halo around the hand
