Cannot load Save game: Error: Illegal Character found in map

"Illegal Character found in map. The Scenario cannot be loaded"

Can anyone help me?
I am running Wesnoth 1.3.1 with the campaign "Norhern Rebirth".

Has anyone a solution for my problem ?

This is your problem. Don't do it.

Running the Campaign or the Beta ?
Can i load the savegeame then with the official version.

(mhm, i think i have to try it on my own^^)

Both at the same time. Northern Rebirth is not a 1.3-compatible campaign.

Mhm. But it worked (inkluding loading of save game) for the first missions. Even if i load E.g. AutoSave from Round 10 it works. Later on it doesnt work.

Loading the game in 1.2.3. doesnt work too. (same error).

I dont want to quit this campaign, is there a solution for this error, i think, its only something small causing the illegal character ?

(I use the german version).

If there is no solution, mhm, then i am very sad

Northern Rebirth uses custom terrains in 1 or more missions. This is not compatible with the new terrain system in 1.3.1. 1.3.1 saves are not compatible with 1.2.x for the same reason. If you want to make it work look which character is mentioned as illegal and change it to a legal character.

But there is no special character named, its only a very general error. Is there more information in a log file ?

Helps me

The illegal character is the comma, did you try to load the 1.3.1 savegame in 1.2.x? That won't work.

Load the game in 1.3.1 look what the illegal character is there and change that to r. Or in case of doubt look at every non letter/number character in the map and change them all in a r. (Or wait until Northern Rebirth gets converted to 1.3 compatible.)

Solution: don't play Northern Rebirth with 1.3.x, play Northern Rebirth with 1.2.x. Just like it's intended.
