Can we make game replays of old versions compatible?

Post by Weiming_Liu »

Hi there, I'm a wesnoth ranking player,I watch many replays of good match.

Every time I upgrade the game, I can't watch the old video.

Is there someway to make old videos compatible to latest version of wesnoth? :hmm:

So I don't have to keep wesnoth of 1.14, 1.12 and even earlier versions.

Regards.

I'm in the same shoes, i even have 1.10 installed so i can watch my old replays and have a laugh when i feel like it. It'd be nice to watch old replays with the current version somehow.

You could try viewtopic.php?t=53824 and see how that works.

I keep hoping that demario can get his patches from there merged to mainline soon...

I'm a little curious how significant the performance increase of augmenting wesnoth with some kind of version table would be compared to everyone else having to download a new table in the binary file. I guess it's technically faster than FFMPEG, but presents a weird kind of trolley problem that can't be solved in this context.
I'm tired.
