I have recently been going over my unit.cfgs in my campaign, and have noticed that some of the file names after a image= are in brackets (mostly the female versions), and some aren't.
I can't find anything in the wiki about this after a quick search. So I want to know what effect this has....
In Win I was just using WordPad until I started receiving errors that referenced line numbers. Now I switched to a text editor called HAPedit that I use for PHP simply because it'll show the line numbers. It doesn't do anything else for it, but that's enough.
I want to know whether or not it is possible to use WML to store a sides units(other than the leader) into variables, then set those units as options in a menu. The main problem I have with this is getting the number of units a side has, and then having the menu list the units.
These are for an Undead campaign that I'm working on. I'm also quite the newbie so mass excuses for my ignorance and inability.

As in, unit x was a frog in the first few campaigns, and then in the start of the next scenario gets kissed by a girl or sth and then changes into a prince.

I'm going through and updating my custom unit files to be compatable for 1.1.1+. I'm just fixing the things I have noticed have changed in the unit WML pages. Here's what I've found:
change long to ranged
change short to melee
change image_defensive to tag
change ability= to tag

So, you make a scenario. And you put there some carefully constructed secrets, hidden doors, hidden bonuses, puzzle. You want players to find them, to be surprised. But instead they look into WML files and find everything. And you would like to stop that. What can you do?
