After two and a half years of development and thousands of commits made by dozens of contributors, the Battle for Wesnoth development team is proud to announce the availability of version 1.18.0 on...
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
As mentioned in the Wesnoth 1.14.4 release announcement, all previous Wesnoth versions including Lua scripting support are affected by a security vulnerability which potentially allows a malicious party to execute arbitrary code through the Lua engine by using specially-crafted code in...

A nightly build of wesnoth master branch is available as a flatpak package now.
Flatpak is a new package format for linux distros that allows distro-independent releases as well as runs applications in a sandbox for security.
You can check here how to set it up on your distro.
when I was a child I played the campaign Northern Rebirth
and I remember that in the fourth map there was the possibility of crushing an insect and starting an alternative campaign. I looked for the game version but I can't find it anywhere. Could someone send me the link???
I have the former and was wondering if the 1.19 nightly is roughly the same as the official 1.18? I can download 1.18 addons into 1.19 so it seems like it. The main difference I know of is that 1.19 has it's own MP server so I can't play 1.18 MP online.
A little puzzled by why my latest flatpak of master calls itself 1.19 not 1.17.26.
I do believe that this is what will become 1.19.0 as well as one version of it branches out to become 1.18.0 but is this just a flatpak thing and it really still is 1.17.26?
It seems that one can no longer redirect stderr output to a log now? I'm using the same command as for 1.17.25 which did save a custom logfile (in addition to the ones it automatically creates in logs dir) of my own but it is ending up with size 0 now.
This is a regular maintenance release for the stable 1.16.x series, delivering bug fixes and translation updates. As is the norm for updates to the current stable series, this release is fully compatible with previous 1.16.x versions.

Hi!
Newbie here, so I apologize in advance for the basic questions.
I use debian bullseye and I have just installed the game following the instructions from and it directly installed the 1.14 version...
Then, when I access to the server, I don't find anyone, Is it because my version is outdated?...
Hi,
Apologies if this isn't the right place to post this.
Just noticed that Skeleton Rider and Bone Knight are now included in the game core.
Both have movement_type=mounted and {ABILITY_SUBMERGE} but the former means that they cannot ever utilise the latter unless they are created in deep water....
I'm trying to get the patch for boost-1.83 from github, I can see it but I'm unable to download it. I've been getting patches from github in past, what has changed? Am I suddenly getting dumber or there is some trick I don't see? Or github has microsofted and turned against users?

This new release in the 1.17.x development series sees various changes and improvements in various areas.
You may have noticed that 1.17.15's announcement was skipped - this was due to a bug which could cause multiple mainline campaigns to crash when advancing to the next scenario, which has been...
