Did we ever get woses?

Coo.
Hmm, random comment/crit/praise: the eyes strongly remind me of compound eyes (like a blowie has).
Kinda remind me of sunglasses too...ok, I'm shutting up now.

Ah, australia.Zhukov wrote:Coo.

Though, I have to ask - is a "blowie" a special kind of fly native to australia, or just a term for normal ones (e.g. an australian colloquialism)? I've always been curious about that.
Here in america we have black flies, blue/greenbottle flies, and house flies, which are all basically the same thing in different colors/sizes. We also have deer flies, which are mid-size, and have black markings on their wings, and have an unpleasant bite, and horse flies, which are very large, black, and have a very painful, but completely non-chemically enhanced bite. Horse flies have a very particular sound to their wing buzz. (we also have the miniscule fruit flies, the inconsolable blasphemy that is the mosquito, and other things, but I digress)
A wikipedia article would be perfect.
(suddenly, just before he clicks the post button, the angel on Jet's shoulder says "look up the link by yourself, you prat. I'll bet you get it on the first try."
So I try. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowfly
Yep. First time's the charm. )
We've all learned something today, haven't we?

Here's the history image, updated with the final versions.
Also - for zookeeper, since this is such an odd-man-out WRT to offsets; I've attached the final PNGs; I ask that you center them as you want, and fire them back at me. Normally I'd just center them on the ellipse, but in this case, we _can't_ do that for the ancient wose.

Ok, done. These are some seriously cool sprites, too.Jetryl wrote:Here's the history image, updated with the final versions.

Wose: 1px up (no, that really does make a difference!).
Elder Wose: 4px up, 2px left.
Btw, the Ancient Wose has two pixels that overlap the hex.

This really is a poster child of cooperative artistry. I do love how wesnoth artists are capable of working togeather and improving on each others work without excess strife and possesiveness. It really is a beautiful thing.

I think the hardest part now will be the walking animation. probably it will sway backwards and forwards as it wriggles its root-feet.
Very nice!
