Re: Puzzle challenges!
Hello! I want to revive this thread!
Here is my riddle:
Father had three sons: oldest one, middle one and youngest one (obvious).
They had cows.
One day father died. In his testimony was writing that oldest son should inherit 1/2 of cows, middle one 1/4, and youngest one 1/6.
But there was 11 cows. Brothers (sons, it is the same) didn't know what to do, and so they called one wise man.
Soon after they called him, they were happy, as they shared cows by their father's wish.
What did that wise man do?

Another way: oldest son should inherit 1/2 of cows, middle one 1/4, and youngest one 1/6.
Re: Puzzle challenges!
Here is one good to keep topic busy; Zap-Zarap, freely post yours even if this one isn't solved.
One man has decided to travel somewhere down the river. He waited for good wind and went in Saturday. That day he went somewhere down the river.
That man returned 4 days later. There wouldn't be nothing weird at all if he didn't returned - AGAIN IN SATURDAY!
How?

Re: Puzzle challenges!
First gets 1 or 2, I give 1. Second gets 1 or 4, I give 4. Third gets 1 or 6, I give 6. Total 11.
Re: Puzzle challenges!
I believe you misunderstood me. It is not 1 or 2, 1 or 4, 1 or 6. It is one half, one-fourth part and one-sixth part.
But, yes, your way is correct if that was the case.

Re: Puzzle challenges!
I don't have one. Could someone else post a puzzle?
Re: Puzzle challenges!
Here is one:
You stand at the crossroad. There are three brothers in front of you. One always tells the truth, one always lies, and one sometimes tells the truth, and sometimes lies.
One way is the town, and another the swamp. You don't know which one is where, and you want to go to town.
You don't know which brother lies, which one tells the truth and which one changes.
You can ask only one question to any of the brothers. What should you ask to surely get to the town?

Re: Puzzle challenges!
Don't ask anything. Just listen and sniff for any sign of Saurian hunters and go the other way.
Okay, seriously now:

Great josteph!
Now harder one: Everything is the same as in upper puzzle, but now brothers cannot point the way, they can just answer with YES or NO.
