Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...
Well, at long last, i've made a star-shaped ellipse for special units. I imagine it will be used for leaders. I don't expect this to replace the crown, but merely to supplement it. This isn't dreadfully needed, but would be nice.
I just wanted to say something definite. I haven't been around much for the past few months, for various reasons. It looks like I won't be able to be around for the indefinite future. I have too much else I need to do. But this project is still important to me, I'll probably be back eventually....
Over time sane organization has been added to this folder, but i'd like to clean it up more. Three of the folders in particular contain a hodgepodge of stuff: items, misc, and terrain. Misc is the worst. It's annoying to try to find something, and eventually discover it's in the wrong folder....
Has anyone noticed that it's really hard to check enemy moves on gray tiles? It depends on what type of screen you have but I have this problem on my home computer and many other people have said they have the same problem. Maybe the color could be changed to something that contrasts better? Also...
Sorry if I'm not supposed to post here...I know I can, but usually the stuff I'm working on doesn't merit it. If so, please move this to the other art thread
However, I'm working on a goblin portrait that is far superior to the one I did in the other forum, and want advice and critiques from...
The hex grid I committed some time ago wasn't liked by some people (apparently using a lower resolution), so I made another semi-sketchy proposal, which was committed a day or two ago.
The latest one, in 1.2 .
The previous one, 1.2 r14489 .
Obviously, you need to look at them in-game to see how...
We have some new transitions between castle and water that are great, and definitely the way i think we should go, but there are still some bugs to work out.
It looks like the transition goes too far South. (since it can touch the opposite bank)
Also if the grass was removed from the top, and the...
Image speaks for itself, I'm not sure if anyone has seen this before; however our good old skeleton appears to have -a lot- incommon with the one from Final Fantasy 4, I didn't realise it until now.
So, do you think the benefits of not having to draw soft shadows into the unit images and frames themselves would be a big enough benefit to endure a bit messy and unrealistic shadow shapes?
I think it should be possible to procedurally generate shadows that look about as good as the ones I've...
The current format for specifying color ranges for team color is comma-separated RGB decimal triplets. I was using some of this code recently and it occurred to me how much cleaner and easier to use it would be in hexadecimal. Since you artists are the ones who use this feature, I thought I'd pose...
I was messing with the status bars too see if i could create something better. I managed to unleash this very cool and much clearer method of displaying HP & XP
Note that this flame is applied using a halo, and thus can be used for other things as well. This might not be ideal, but any detriments to this are infinitely better than a static frame.
For one thing, I'd like zookeeper to (one I commit it) work on tilted...
I think villages would look better if we shrunk the houses and generally put multiple houses on each village tile. Also, it would make the scale of villages and castles more consistent. Now, some may say that the scale of the terrains and units is intentionally wacky to begin with, but it doesn't...
I've been playing around with the WML definable team color settings (thanks guys!), and I've come up with several changes to the team colors that look considerably better than what is currently defined.
The first 7 entries look good, I think. I'm not sure what to do with the last two entries,...
There are some pretty pretty pictures floating around in these forums nowdays!
It doesn't look like we ever got new woses though...
I promise I'm doing an Asheviere portrait, I sketched it out and everything. But between work and life now, I'm short on time. I'll try to pop up once in a while.
In order to delegate this job to other people, I'm making only the base frames for the new team-colored units.
I'd like people to update the old animations to fit the new, team-colored base frames. You don't have to make new animations, just update the old ones to match the new base frames. Here...
I found only one thread directly dealing with creeping biggerism. Any new one might be in order to get some attention to the issue (especially since I noticed that Jetryl hadn't replied to that thread) ...
What's the official stand of the art people on biggerism? What is the size of a unit used to...
